Weeknotes 09-28-25

This week was good because my wife got not 1 but 2 job offers. On the same day. Within an hour of each other. They were both really good offers and the decision seemed to be just about as traumatic as the job search itself but she decided and starts a new thing a week from tomorrow!

My parents also came to visit (and my mom discovered I have a website so there's that). The kids are having a blast with nana and papa and their pup Gracie.

• Unfortunately not much this week. I've actually got like 10 outlines and drafts and starts but nothing came to a finishing point. Hopefully this week.

• This recipe for kung pao tofu turned out really good. I had to modify it a bit due to missing ingredients but it was really good. Feel free to send me good tofu recipes; my daughter is quasi vegetarian (she'll sometimes do bacon and pepperoni but claims the vegetarian moniker) so we are trying to do more tofu dishes.
• Interested in the Lego Gameboy build? Costco seems to have it early and cheaper than list!
• This was a good read from Cory on some new stuff Cloudflare is doing.
• This is super important and as far as I can tell unresolved. When the Florida concentration camp was decommissioned a bunch of people went missing. No one knows where they are.
• There's lots of important drama in the Rails/Ruby community right now. If that language and framework are important to you it's worth paying attention.
• omglol dropped discord due to safety concerns and is now just IRC (and maybe XMPP?) for the chat network.

apps worth trying

• Silverbullet.md released v2.1 recently. It's a great note taking option. I use it and will be upgrading soon.
