Week Notes 9-21-25
For the second weekend in a row it was just me and the kids. Last weekend my wife had a book club retreat and this weekend she had a ladies sunday school retreat. For the second weekend in a row we had a crappy "Friday Night Dinner" experience.

This weekend it was at our newly found favorite pizza place. To make a long story short they gave me the wrong gluten free crust (I can't do cauliflower and that's what they gave me even though I asked for the other and the other is what was on my receipt). They then claimed that's all they had so couldn't do anything about it. I wasn't mean but they definitely saw my frustration because 20 minutes later they brought out a fresh gluten free pizza on the right crust. Kudos to the lady behind the counter - I think she made it happen (I'm pretty sure the kitchen made the wrong one, didn't want to fix it but got forced to by her badgering them). When I left I asked how to make sure I got that one and she just said, "Ask me - I'll remember." Oh well. Other than that it was a good weekend with the kids.
what i wrote
- This brief post on the push to criminalize being against fascism.
links worth viewing
- This is a really insightful post from Privacy Guides on recent changes (for the better) in new iPhones (security wise).
- This is a nifty little javascript library for footnotes!
- There's a new linkblog from Kevin that's well worth a sub.
- Cory on mastodon shared the new album by Fleshwater and it's really good.
apps to check out
- Goguma: omglol turned off discord this week (for very good reasons) which had me looking out for an iOS IRC client. So far Goguma seems to be the best.
- Daylish: I like this new apps take on calendaring, focused on the day and what's before you. If you are looking for something like that - check it out!
