December is almost here. The last couple of weeks have been very busy. Two weeks ago, we headed to the Carolina Renaissance Fair and had a blast as a family. As a family we love dressing up and going and playing the part for a few hours. The highlight the past couple of years has been both Juggling Geoff and the joust.
Over the thanksgiving week, we celebrated on the day at some friends house with their family friends. It's the second year in a row we've gone to their house and it's a ton of fun. Then on Saturday I smoked some pork and we had a bunch of people over to enjoy tacos.
I probably should have more to say but that's it at the moment - enjoy some thoughts, links and music from the past couple of weeks below though!
what i wrote
- ...about a new favorite album.
- ...about a concert I went to with my wife!
links worth reading
- The Trump administration's goto strategy seems to be mortgage fraud (all imagined so far). Might be worth figuring out who is making the recommendations and how they are getting information as that seems to be more illegal...
- This is an old article (2021) but I had no clue Oscar Isaac was in a Christian ska band in the late 90s!
- I really don't like linking substack but this article series on how Christianity in the era of Trump is changing is worth a read.
- This article about Chicago was written from a place of love and lament. Read to get a picture of what's going on.
- What is the poverty line really? (Substack warning)
- You should really listen to LUX by RosalÃa. Here's an interview on NPR with her. Another article on it.
what i listened to
I'm changing up my scrobbler situation - I want to bring back a collage view but for now, this is a picture of November:
