It was a busy weekend! We spent Friday downtown because my daughter had a teen event at an indie bookstore so we hung around at a local coffee shop with our son. On Saturday we spent the afternoon at the No Kings protest doing what needed doing. On Sunday we skipped the morning services at church and instead went to two local fall festivals and youth group for my daughter. As I said, full weekend.
It was a lot of fun though but I don't have much else to share on at the moment.
what i wrote
- Just one again, on whether or not we are a Christian nation. Spoiler alert: we aren't.
links worth clicking
- I'm really intrigued by this: Teal.FM. It looks like a potential last.fm replacement (what I currently track music listens with) powered by atproto. Interesting indeed, doubly so if I can use my PDS. Cory's approach is tempting too but a bit much for me I think...
- Cory's work in tracking .gov domains is worth checking out.
- This was an interesting thread on Mastodon about using Mastodon for blog comments. Here's a potential way forward with Jekyll. And another focused on static blogs. And here's another look at it.
- A report on a woman who is a citizen who was shot by ICE. We shouldn't look away from this stuff.
- The GoFundMe CEO is noticing some big warning signs with the economy. Unfortunately those in power only care about enriching themselves.
apps i'm trying
- Rallly: We joined an environmentalist-focused group at the church we've been attending and I go drafted to manage the polling to figure out meeting dates. So - I setup a self-hosted Rallly install to give it a go.
what i listened to
There are several family influences here...Taylor & Lofi K-Pop Demon Hunter in particular.
