This is an active timeline of what I'm up to online. It encompasses the various places I post and should stay up to date.
January 2026
We've been using an iOS app called Stuff to help manage simple family stuff asynchronously. Here's my thoughts about it!
Wrote my personal review of 2025 here: https://krrd.ing/2025-in-review/Enjoyed revisiting the good parts of the year. There were more than I thought as itβs hard not to see past the dumpster fire.

a look back at 2025
Some (spoilery) thoughts on Stranger Things, now that the story is told.
Listening to Djo on the way to the theater to watch the Stranger Things finale. Canβt wait to see how the ride ends!
I was bad about weeknotes this month so instead...I have a month notes!
Love to read year in review posts! This is a great inspiration - I'll see if I can get mine done before 2026. oglink: https://www.coryd.dev/posts/2025/2025-in-review
Yordi is so right - "Let's all try to go out of our bubble a little more. There's a whole world to discover outside its boundaries." There's so much good music out there! oglink: https://yordi.me/outside-the-bubble/
Tornado warning in Indiana over Christmas week was not on my bingo card but here we are.
@FediTree will try again!
To those that celebrate - Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays!! To those that donβt, I hope your weeks are great too!
@feditree happy holidays!
Here, I try to verbalize where I've been in regards to personal knowledge management and the tool I've settled on for the next season going forward.
RE: https://mastodon.social/@fromjason/115720918933458152There isnβt any space a βwell meaningβ white dude wonβt try to colonize. Jason shares below the playbook. Speaking as a white dude, we should be quick to listen without defensiveness. Active decolonization makes the world a richer space. If what we hear

@hiro that omega swatch is a dream! #want!
This post has been a work in progress for several weeks. π€¦ December is almost here. The last couple of weeks have been very busy. Two weeks ago, we headed to the Carolina Renaissance Fair and had a blast as a family. As a family we love dressing up and going

πΎ Stranger Things day!
I just realized the gallery is weirdly off center in this but that's gonna have to be a tomorrow problem.
I saw Chris Staples and Verity Den tonite and it was a ton of fun!
The open showcase band Verity Den was quite nice! Looking forward to Chris now.
Getting ready to see Chris Staples live on his album release tour! Love live music!

Some brief thoughts on why you should give LUX by RosalΓa a listen.
"No Halo" by Sorority Noise View original
someone shared Rosalia's Lux album on bsky today, about how good it is. It's not a genre i normally go to (Pitchfork describes it as avant garde classical pop) but I decided to give it a try driving around with my daughter and we were both

Northern lights from NC. Not really visible with naked eye but a camera with 3s exposure really picked up those pinks. They arenβt at all visible in the southern sky. Really lovely color! #nature #northernlights https://some.pics/6914006c05f15
Robert shared about his music setup this weekend as well. It uses a combo of Roon and Qobuz and I appreciate his thoughts on not being a musical packrat! oglink: https://www.canneddragons.net/cleaning-out-my-closet/
November is fully here and fall is coming to a close. Here's some of what I found interesting in the last week!
I feel this. It's worse and or more complicated when friend equals family. Regardless this is an accurate summation of America right now. oglink: https://tadaima.bearblog.dev/life-as-an-average-american-right-now/
π§° Installed a eufy smart lock with only minor injuries. Feeling accomplished.
Gonna finally setup my home office to be more than just a surface for my laptop. Any cheap but quality monitor, keyboard, mouse suggestions? Work machine is a MacBook Pro and personal is an Air - would want compatibility with both if possible.
I've successfully got my wife, parents and one other important group chat moved to @delta . I call that a win!
I love music and how I engage with it is almost as important. This is how I've figured out to listen to the magic.
β Breaking a minute from the day job to vote. It was just local elections but they all matter. If youβve got elections in your locale, take a minute to go vote!
@cory looking at cadence for mac - does it access playlists that are on the server?
It's been a couple of weeks...but I'm back!
Setup my own delta.chat relay today! Was easier than expected. Moving family/friends to delta (or at least making the attempt). Let me know if you want to connect there!

Smoking a hatch green chili marinated pork butt for tacos for my birthday dinner later today.
Kids asked what I listened to as a kid and #fiveironfrenzy came to mind so I played some. βGet Your Riot Gearβ came on and dang that song from like 1998 hits now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=1ZoFdabP6KhHs1FT&v=WrDo2qM6yms&feature=youtu.be
It was a busy weekend! We spent Friday downtown because my daughter had a teen event at an indie bookstore so we hung around at a local coffee shop with our son. On Saturday we spent the afternoon at the No Kings protest doing what needed doing. On Sunday we

an addendum to my last post on firefighting...
October has come! Here is the first week notes of the month!
are you going to be a firefighter? an arsonist? or maybe a fire marshal???
@wq i'm so jealous of you at FF. lol. I really wanted to go to either it or Best Friends Forever fest but alas it wasn't in the cards this year. Hope it's a blast! I'm living vicariously through your pics!
Seriously considering this humble bundle: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-heroes-in-halfshell-books Anyone have any thoughts/reviews of the TMNT comics??? Loved the series and movies when I was a kid
This week was good because my wife got not 1 but 2 job offers. On the same day. Within an hour of each other. They were both really good offers and the decision seemed to be just about as traumatic as the job search itself but she decided and starts

Sometimes it feels like βLetβs Game It Outβ is in charge of the government and I look outside expecting to see a giant wooden plank bobbing around in the air.
Updated the body font on https://krrd.ing this evening to hopefully make it a bit more readable. Iβm not a design guy but I try.
For the second weekend in a row it was just me and the kids. Last weekend my wife had a book club retreat and this weekend she had a ladies sunday school retreat. For the second weekend in a row we had a crappy "Friday Night Dinner" experience.
shouldn't we all be against fascism?
π‘ Fav pizza place changed GF crust since we last visited. It was the best in town but they did away with it and replaced with a cauliflower crust thatβs horrendous. My kids wonβt even touch it. So frustrated.

It's kind of hard to believe August is over. It's also kind of hard to believe the week is already over. While we are at it, it's also hard to believe we live in a time where the US president is declaring war on

This YT feels like necessary watching. It's not easy & the frank discussions of genocide could be triggering (take it slow or don't watch if so). It's important for understanding the current situation though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwpanShgOp4
